PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having an operation panel automatically returning display contents even when an LCD displays erroneously or an LCD controller is disabled to receive data due to an electrostatic noise. SOLUTION: When sum A stored in work memory 10 is compared with a checksum group of all display contents stored in main memory 11 and they do not match with each other, a microcomputer 4 of an operation part is instructed to issue an initial setting command or reset pulse to an LCD controller by an instruction from a main controller 5, and then transmits the display contents stored in an LCD display transmission register 8 to the operation panel 1.
