PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure reliability of a device even under a severe environment contaminated by a liquid such as a coolant or an oil. SOLUTION: This scale is provided with a scale body 10 which forms a pattern of a scale electrode 12 on a glass epoxy board 11, a coating layer 40 covering the formed surface of the scale electrode 12 of this scale body 10, and a scale cover 30 as a protecting material and a scale forming material attached onto this coating device 40 through an adhesive layer 20 such as an adhesive tape.
