摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bisphenol and derivatives thereof having high safety with markedly reduced activity as endocrine disruptor. SOLUTION: This bisphenol with markedly reduced activity as endocrine disruptor is a 9,9-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)fluorine or a derivative thereof. This bisphenol has the following characteristics: in a conjugation test for an estrogen receptor, the conjugation inhibition percentage is <=50% at a concentration of 100μM, in a transcription activity test, the transcription activity in the absorbance at a wavelength of 540 nm is <=1/1,000 compared to that of bisphenol, or in a cell proliferation test, the cell proliferation activity is <=1/20 compared with that of bisphenol. The above-mentioned derivatives are e.g. resins each with the above bisphenol or an alkylene oxide adduct thereof as the diol component, including polyester-based resins, polyurethane-based resins, polycarbonate-based resin and epoxy-based resins.
