PURPOSE: A web tensioning device is provided to supply tension being non-changeable to the radius of a supply reel and the loosening speed of a wrapping web, to improve better than the result of a simple supply reel brake, and to easily work and reduce manufacturing cost than a system accompanying various brake tests for the supply reel. CONSTITUTION: A device for tensioning a web(22) as a plastics web dispensed from a shuttle in a wrapping apparatus is composed of the wrapping apparatus including an unlimited track positioned around wrapped objects, the shuttle traveling on the unlimited track and dispensing the web, a pair of rollers(23,24) covered with resilient materials to keep a constant tension in the web with forming a nip, a resilient covering of the rollers compressed in the nip, and the web supplied between the nip of the rollers. The speed at which web is dispensed is varied as the shuttle progresses around the track and is decided according to the shape of the track and the wrapped objects.
