PURPOSE: A column unit, installed between a seat and a base in order to adjust the height of a chair, is provided to secure the smooth and stable up and down movement of a spindle by installing a coated bushing. CONSTITUTION: The column unit comprises a base tube(10), a spindle(13) reciprocating up and down within the spindle, and at least one bushing(12) installed between the spindle and the inner surface of the base tube. The upper end of the bushing is positioned at a higher level than that of the upper end of the base tube, and the inner surface of the bushing is coated with a lubricant.
