PURPOSE: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided to completely purify particulate dusts or smoke materials contained in the exhaust gas using the reverse circulation or gravity without use of a catalyst or other reactants. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus comprises a connection pipe(10) connected to an exhaust system or exhaust apparatus of an internal combustion engine, a first purifying pipe(12) of which an inlet is communicated with the end part of the connection pipe and an outlet discharges dusts or smoke materials separated from the exhaust gas, wherein the exhaust gas flowed into through the connection pipe is reversely circulated, a discharge pipe(16) delivering the dusts or smoke materials discharged from the outlet, a filtering device(18) communicated with the end part of the discharge pipe and collecting dusts or smoke materials contained in the exhaust gas flowed from the discharge pipe, a delivery pipe(24) discharging the exhaust gas purified at the first purifying pipe, a second purifying pipe(26) of which an inlet is communicated with the end part of the delivery pipe to separate dusts or smoke materials by reversely circulating the exhaust gas flowed in through the delivery pipe, and an exhaust pipe(28) discharging the exhaust gas purified at the second purifying pipe.
