PURPOSE: A multi-pulse thyristor converting apparatus using an auxiliary circuit is provided to increase the number of pulses of input current and output voltage and lower harmonics to improve an input and an output performance by adding an auxiliary circuit to a converter of an existing 6-pulse thyristor. CONSTITUTION: A low-capacitance autotransformer(530) for dividing a DC voltage and a load(570) are connected in parallel to a center of a DC terminal. The first side of a sing phase transformer(540) is connected between a center tap of the low-capacitance autotransformer(530) and a three-phase input terminal(510). The second side of the single phase transformer(540) is connected between a lower side of the low-capacitance autotransformer(530) and a lower side of the load(570). A zigzag type transformer(550) is connected between a three-phase input terminal(510) of a three-phase thyristor bridge(520) and the first side of the single phase transformer(540). A capacitor(560) for dividing the DC voltage is formed at both sides of the low-capacitance autotransformer(530). An auxiliary thyristor(Tp,Tq) is formed at the second side of the single phase transformer(540) in order to control a phase angle α.
