1,167,924. Calendar watches. ETA A.G. EBAUCHES - FABRIK. Jan.5, 1967 [Jan. 11, 1966], No.775/67. Heading G3T. A calendar watch has concentric and coplanar rotatable date and day of the week indicating rings 7 and 8 respectively, teeth 9 and 10 on the rings being drivingly engaged by a spring-loaded finger 13 and a finger 12 respectively. The fingers 12, 13 are attached to a wheel 11 which is driven at one revolution in twenty four hours by an hour wheel 6 via a wheel 15 and a pinion 16. The ring 8 is driven anti-clockwise whilst the ring 7 is driven clockwise so that a day indication 27 and a date numeral 26 are displayed in a window 28. A disc (18, Fig. 2, not shown), overlaps the teeth 10 to prevent axial movement of the ring 8 and has a recess (19) in which a spring-loaded detent 20 is located. The outer edge of bridges (not shown) prevents axial movement of the ring 7, the teeth 9 of which are engaged by a detent 25. In order that the correct day and date indications shall be shown, for example on the day following the end of a month with less than thirty one days, the watch hands are rotated back and forth around the midnight reading so that the finger 12 moves the ring 8 once forward and then backwards again whereas the finger 13 only moves the ring 7 forwards since the reverse movement merely results in the finger 13 ratcheting over the teeth 9.
