PURPOSE: A module for expanding functions is provided to transmit AV source data to an AV system after processing AV source data to be decoded by a decoder mounted or embedded at the AV system. CONSTITUTION: In a module for expanding functions(240) to be mounted at a module rack to communicate with a base module enabling to decode received transmission stream data, the module for expanding functions includes a conversion part(243) for converting AV source data into transmission stream data, a communication interface part(244) for communicating with the base module, a control part(245) for transmitting the transmission stream data to the base module through the communication interface part.
