PURPOSE: A chassis structure of a hatch-back vehicle is provided to control deformation of a chassis to the utmost in case of a rear clash by increasing the stiffness of the chassis, and to prevent a spare tire from coming into the room in a rear clash. CONSTITUTION: A chassis of a hatch back-vehicle is equipped with a rear floor panel(11) having a space(11a) for accommodating a spare tire, rear side members(12) jointed to both sides of the rear floor panel, and a cross member jointed to the side members, with jointed to the lower surface of the floor panel. The chassis of the hatch back-vehicle comprises a reinforcing cross member(14). The reinforcing cross member is jointed to the upper surface of the rear floor panel between the space for accommodating the spare tire and a rear seat. The end portions of the reinforcing cross member are jointed to the upper surface of a wheel housing of the body, with passing the side member. Both ends of the reinforcing cross member are bent in a stepped shape and jointed to the center portion of the wheel housing. Therefore, the stiffness of the chassis is improved and the deformation of the chassis in a rear clash is controlled to the utmost.
