Apparatus for positioning a cladding panel 1 against a wall 47 ready for fixing, comprising means 38 for supporting the cladding panel with its major plane in a generally horizontal orientation, means 40 for locating an edge of the panel in proximity to the wall on which it is to be secured, and tilt means 39 for turning the cladding panel from its horizontal orientation to a generally upright orientation with its plane substantially parallel to the wall in preparation for fitting thereto. Preferably, the whole is provided on an adjustable height framework 2 and the support 38 is slidable along a support beam 16 of the framework. A positioning tool 40 is used to support and edge of the panel 1 adjacent the wall and has parts (43, 44, Fig 6) fitting over the preceding panel and a guide wall (42) for the panel to be fixed. |
