Hollow body in the form of a biological screen is faced inside and out with metallic coatings. The body has an opening at the upper end and the lower end closed respectively by a detachable lid and a door. The lid and the door constitute a biological screen together with the biological coating of the body. Inside is a receptacle of insulating material for the samples which has a movable lid. There is a pulley to raise and lower the samples, cutting pliers and a tube to feed liquid nitrogen into the receptacle. Also there is a venting tube, a movable rod to manoeuvre the receptacle, an illuminating system for the interior of the apparatus and an observation window. This arrangement permits the observer to position the receptacle accurately and place the sample in it.
