1,165,979. Hot axle box detector. HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd. 31 May, 1968 [8 June, 1967], No. 26618/67. Heading B7N. [Also in Division G1] A hot axle box detector comprises means for measuring the temperature of two axle boxes on the same vehicle and means for giving an alarm if either temperature exceeds a threshold value dependent upon the sum of the temperature signals and a constant preset value. The temperature signals x 1 , x 2 , Fig. 2, are applied to threshold circuits 15, 16 and give alarms if they exceed the threshold level applied at 17, 18. The level is determined by subtracting a fixed level h 3 from the x 1 and x 2 signals and summing the results at 22. A fraction of the summed signal is added to a fixed level h 1 at 24 to provide the threshold level. A limiter 26 may be provided to prevent the threshold exceeding a preset maximum. The subtractors 19, 20 may be omitted.
|
