PURPOSE: A remote line loop-back method is provided to convert an itself mode of a remote DS3 grade device into a receiving mode when configuring a loop-back and perform a normal line loop-back. CONSTITUTION: A main processor of a local DCE(Data Circuit-terminating Equipment) confirms its clock mode through a line driver(S4). The main processor of the local DCE confirms its mode(S5). If its mode is not an itself mode, the main processor of the local DCE converts its mode into the itself mode(S6). A loop code detecting unit of a remote DCE detects a loop code among received DS3 signals and transmits the detected loop code to the main processor(S7). The main processor of the remote DCE confirms whether the transmitted loop code is received during an admitted time and compares the transmitted loop code with a specific loop code previously stored in a memory(S8). If the received loop code is a remote line loop-back request signal, the main processor of the remote DCE confirms its clock mode through the line driver. If the its clock mode is an itself mode, the main processor of the remote DCE converts the itself mode into a receiving mode(S9). If the its clock mode is the receiving mode, the main processor of the remote DCE maintains the receiving mode(S9). The main processor of the remote DCE executes a loop-back under the receiving mode(S10).
