PURPOSE: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent light loss by overlapping a pixel electrode with gate lines and data lines, and improve transmissivity by preventing NA(Numerical Aperture) loss. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display includes color filters(11) formed on an insulating; a plurality of gate wiring including a gate line(21), a gate pad(23) connected with the gate line; a plurality of retention volume wiring including a retention volume line(25) placed between the gate lines, a retention volume electrode connected with the retention volume line, retention volume branch lines(271,272) which are branches of the retention volume electrode, a plurality of data wiring including a data line(61) crossing the gate line, a data pad(64) connected with the data line; a protective film formed on the data wiring; pixel electrode(80) formed on the protective film and partially overlapped with the data lines.
