[Also in Divisions B3 and C3] Coating compositions for metals consist of a plastisol of a paste grade polymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride, a glycidyl isocyanurate, particularly crystalline triglycidyl isocyanurate, and a hardener for the epoxy compound, e.g. an anhydride of a polycarboxylic acid or an amino compound. Plasticisers are esters of phthalic, adipic, sebacic or phosphoric acids or sulphonic acid esters of phenols. There may also be present a lead salt or epoxy stabiliser, filler and pigment. In the examples the compositions are used to coat sheets of stainless steel, iron, aluminium and zinc.</p> |
