PURPOSE: A cooler for an LCD projector is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost of the cooler and perform efficient cooling operation. CONSTITUTION: A cooler for an LCD projector is constructed in such a manner that a gas bracket(24) is installed between an infrared filter(23) and a condensing lens(25), and a liquid coolant(L) is set on the front side of a polarizer(28) placed at a light source. The infrared filter filters infrared rays contained in lights. The gas bracket is filled with a gas for absorbing infrared radiant energy of light that has passed through the infrared filter. The liquid coolant absorbs thermal radiant energy of visible ray region of the light. A plurality of heat-radiating pins are formed around the gas bracket. The gas filled in the gas bracket is CO2.
