PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector in which generation of contact failure by creeping flux can be prevented surely. CONSTITUTION: A housing 3 has an opposing face 6 to oppose to the surface 2a of a substrate 2. The opposing face 6 has a mounting face 7 to abut on the surface 2a of the substrate 2 and an intermediate face 8 where a terminal retaining hole is opened. A locking fixture 9 to protrude from the mounting face 7 penetrates a locking fixture insertion through-hole 22 of the substrate 2, and is locked to the rear face 2b of the substrate 2. A separating groove 10 is formed between the mounting face 7 and the intermediate face 8. When soldering, the flux does not reach the intermediate face 8, even if the flux reaches the mounting face 7.
