PURPOSE: To provide an area information distribution system by which the area information of a visited place can be very easily obtained in a short time. CONSTITUTION: A user 2 arrives at a visited area (hotel, department, etc.), and requests an operator 4 when he or she desires to obtain the guidance information on the area 1. The operator 4 operates a host computer 5 to input the telephone number of a portable terminal 3 owned by the user 2 and the requirement for an area program. On receiving the requirement, the host computer 5 transmits the area guide program stored in its internal memory to the portable terminal 3 via a communications line. When the user activates the program transmitted, the guidance of the area 1 is displayed on the liquid crystal display of the portable terminal 3. |
