PURPOSE: An ESD(ElectroStatic Discharge) protection circuit of an IC for managing a battery is provided to improve reliability of the IC for managing the battery by supplementing tolerance of ESD. CONSTITUTION: A protection circuit(100) is formed with an IC(11) for managing a battery, the first MOSFET(12), the second MOSFET(13), the first to the sixth resistance(R1-R6), the first to the fourth condensers(C1-C4), the first transient-voltage suppression element(110), and the second transient-voltage suppression element(120). The IC(11) for managing the battery has a plurality of input/output terminals and controls operations of a battery. The first MOSFET(12) controls discharge current of a battery power source. The second MOSFET(13) controls charge current of the battery power source. The first to the sixth resistance(R1-R6) attenuates electrostatic discharge of high current and high voltage. The first to the fourth condensers(C1-C4) are used for stabilizing output power. The first transient-voltage suppression element(110) and the second transient-voltage suppression element(120) are used for passing high current.
