摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a high-strength thick steel plate which is the thick steel plate formed by increasing the thickness of a slab and hot rolling the continuously cast slab under conditions under which a casting speed is increased and does not cause cracking during welding or bending thereof and has the good internal quality. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the high-strength thick steel plate of 6 to 150 mm in thickness consisting of carbon steel or low-alloy steel containing, by mass %, 0.05 to 0.2% C, 0.05 to 0.4% Si, 0.2 to 2% Mn, <=0.02% P, <=0.05% S and 0.0008 to 0.003% B and having a value of Mn/S of >=300 comprises casting a rectangular shape in the cross sectional shape of 200 to 350 mm in thickness at a rate of 0.7 to 2.5 m/minute and hot rolling the slab as a blank.
