PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus having a side registration adjustment function which can correct a positional deviation amount in a horizontal scanning direction of recording sheets simply and can be applied also to a compact imaging apparatus such as a desk printer even when a paper supply unit is added by a user afterwards to an image output part. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, one or a plurality of paper supply units are combined arbitrarily to the image output part and recording images are formed while the recording sheets are supplied from these paper supply units to the image output part. Each of the paper supply units is provided with a unit side storage means for storing a side registration correction amount in the horizontal scanning direction of the recording sheets sent out to the image output part. When any of the paper supply units is selected in an imaging job, the image output part reads out the side registration correction amount from the unit side storage means corresponding to the selection, and corrects an image write timing for images in the horizontal scanning direction based on the side registration correction amount. |
