PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure good moldability even if a molding tact to be expended for hot press molding is shortened, in a method for molding a sound absorbing material for a vehicle such as a dash insulator front or the like, and a mold adapted thereto. SOLUTION: Air holes 42 and an air passage 43 are formed to an upper mold 40 for hot press molding while air holes 51 and an air passage 52 are formed to a lower mold 50 for hot press molding and the hot air circulating piping 63 of a hot air circulating mechanism 60 is connected to both of the air passages 43 and 52 to circulate hot air heated by a heater 62 into the molds from a blower motor 61 at the time of hot press molding due to the upper and lower molds 40 and 50 to accelerate the curing of the thermosetting resin binder in a raw mat. Further, harmful gas generated at the time of hot press molding is taken in the hot air circulating mechanism 60 not only to prevent the deterioration of work environment but also to dispense with large-sized exhaust equipment. By supplying hot air into the mold from a hot air supply mechanism 70, mold equipment is made inexpensive. |
