PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber reinforced resin structure which is excellent in mechanical strength irrespective of light weight and provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: After impregnating reinforcing fiber comprising nonwoven fabric 1 with a matrix resin 2 mixed with an organic solvent, an intermediate substrate 4 containing foam 3 is formed by vaporizing the organic solvent without curing the matrix resin 2. The matrix resin 2 is cured under a state wherein the intermediate substrate 4 is molded in a specific form and the fiber reinforced resin structure comprising a foam-containing reinforced layer 6 is obtained. A volumetric porocity of the fiber reinforced resin structure (the foam-containing reinforced layer 6) is made within a range of 10 to 70% by mixing the blowhole 3 into the matrix resin 2. |
