[Also in Divisions G4-G6] A nuclear reactor fuel channel comprises a zirconium, niobium alloy tube, 20, with a steel hub assembly, 10, at each end. The stainless steel insert, 16, is held in place by the retaining ring 18. The tube, 20, is forced into the grooves in the inner surfaces of 10 and 16 by a rolling of conical rollers. The yield strength of the tube 20 is higher than that of the hub assembly and to prevent distortion of the edges of the hub by the stronger tube material, the yield strength of the insert, 16, is made higher than that of the tube. |
