PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain driving stability and prevent worsening of steering feeling for a driver even when a flexible material such as a wire is expanded and a steering gear ratio is increased in a steering device for a vehicle using the flexible material. SOLUTION: A drive pulley connected with a steering wheel 1 and a driven pulley connected with a gear box 3 are connected by a Bowden wires 5, 6. Sag amounts of the wires 5, 6 are detected by a differential transformer as a steering torque detection means. The steering ratio that increases according to increase of the detected sag amounts is detected. When the steering gear ratio reaches a predetermined value or larger, a warning lamp 36 is turned on and the increase of the steering gear ratio is indicated to the driver. |
