PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily achieve high quality of a recorded image when a recording material is wound in a roll and the recording material is drawn therefrom to record an image. SOLUTION: The recording material 70 is shipped in a condition that it is shaped to be long and is wound around an outer periphery of a core 72A. The recording material 70 is wound around the core 72A by determining the radius (r) of the roll such that a ratio of r/w of the radius (r) of the roll and the width (w) of the recording material is not less than 0.65 and a ratio of r0 /r of the radius (r0 ) of the core 72A and the radius (r) of the roll is not greater than 0.5. As a result, even when a force bending the core 72A with respect to the axis thereof is applied to the roll of the recording material 70 during the shipping or storing of the recording material 70, it is possible to prevent the curling tendency of the recording material 70 due to deformation of the core 72A so that it is possible to readily maintain the plain property of the recording material 70 in the recording of an image.
