PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caster with a stopper means which can reliably stop the rotation of a wheel by employing a system of pressing a predetermined braking member against a side surface close to a contact surface (an outer circumferential surface) of the wheel in one operation, can easily release the brake, and is simple in the entire structure, and can be manufactured by taking a slight device on a existing caster. SOLUTION: The caster comprises a fitting base plate (1), a lower base plate (2), a supporting yoke (3), a shaft (4) and a wheel (5). Firstly, a pedal type operation member (6) comprising a portal arm part (61) and extension pieces (62) and (62) is pivotably supported by the shaft (4) (the portal arm part (61) comprises a stepping part (61a) and two pieces of leg parts (61b) and (61b)). Inner surfaces of the extension pieces (62) and (62) are tapered. In addition, through holes (h) and (h) are opened in rear surfaces of branch pieces (31) and (31) of the support yoke (3), and rivets (7) and (7) are slidably passed in the direction of the wheel (5).
