FERROELECTRIC CAPACITOR

PURPOSE: A ferroelectric capacitor is provided to exclude fully a thermal charge effect generated from the remaining part of a ferroelectric and restrain the unstable polarizing inversion of the ferroelectric by forming an area of a ferroelectric less than or equal to the area of one electrode. CONSTITUTION: A ferroelectric layer(13) is formed on an upper surface of a lower electrode(12). A shielding layer(14) is formed around the ferroelectric layer(13). The thickness of the shielding layer(14) is equal to the thickness of the ferroelectric layer(13). An upper electrode(11) is formed on the shielding layer(14) in order to cover fully the ferroelectric layer(13). A stacked area of the upper electrode(11) is equal to the stacked area of the ferroelectric layer(13).
