<p>Filters containing fibrous filling, preferably employing glass-wool, ensure a high degree of purification of effluents. The filters also contain optional additives such as compost, effluent sludge, zeolite, to improve performance. Effluents have to be allowed to settle prior to filtration. Filters of this description are recommended for private dwellings, speedily installed filtration for camps, occasionally to render harmless highly contaminated, but low volume and readily separable industrial effluents - second stage biological purification of industrial effluents (preferably collected from the food industry).
