PURPOSE: A printing method of a card color printer is provided to manufacture and use an ID card which includes a photograph or personal information of a person through a printing method of an ID card color printer. CONSTITUTION: If a power is turned-on, a provision of a ribbon, a color of the ribbon, the position of a cam, and an opening or not of the upper arm of a printer are checked. A signal is waited while print information data are received. Cards are inserted one by one on condition that the reverse side of the card is exposed toward the upper direction. The supplied card is guided into the inner portion of the printer, one end of the card is sensed, and a proper position to be printed is adjusted. A ribbon is supplied by a ribbon driving motor and a proper color adapted to printing information is supplied by combining four colors(yellow, magenta, cyan, and black). A cam driving motor is rotated, the cam is rotated, a printer head is descended and presses a printed surface vertically, and information contents are printed. After the above processes are repeated, the printed surface is coated with an overlay. The cam driving motor is rotated, the printer head is ascended and stopped, the ribbon driving motor is stopped. After the printing process is terminated, the card is drawn.
