DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING EXHAUST NOISE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE: A control apparatus of exhaust noise for an internal combustion engine is provided to reduce broad band noise, and to minimize the installation space by adjusting the variable length of a bypass pipe with arranging U-shaped parts and inverse U-shaped parts alternately. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust noise control device is composed of an exhaust pipe(60) discharging exhaust gas from an engine(50); a variable bypass pipe(70) spaced from the exhaust pipe; an actuator(80) varying the length of the bypass pipe by connecting the bypass pipe to an operating rod(82); and a control unit(90) controlling the actuator. U-shaped parts and inverse U-shaped parts are arranged alternately in the bypass pipe. Broad band noise is reduced by varying the length of the bypass pipe with installing the bypass pipe easily.
