metal forming. SUBSTANCE: closed die has top and bottom halves. Top half is made in the form of rectangular section punch with restricting shoulder. Bottom half has casing with internal cavity having widened upper part and self-adjusting member composed of longitudinal and transverse wedge-shaped planks and is equipped with sealing members formed as longitudinal and transverse planks. Sealing blades are embedded in longitudinal sealing members. Longitudinal wedge-shaped planks of self-adjusting member are positioned for upward vertical displacement and formation of compensating cavity. Inclination angle of transverse planks of self-adjusting member is smaller than angle of friction by 2-3 deg. Sealing members are positioned for sliding over punch side surfaces. Inner surface of sealing members has inclination angle of 2-3 deg. Die of such construction is used for wasteless or low-waste stamping of forged pieces. EFFECT: reduced metal usage and provision for eliminating jamming of forging machine or die itself. 3 cl, 6 dwg
