Y TYPE CROSS-SECTION RAYON FIBER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A Y type cross-section rayon fiber and a manufacturing method thereof are provided in which the fiber is characterized by having dissolved property, mechanical property such as strength and elongation and physical property such as specific gravity, crystallinity and degree of orientation like existing viscose rayon and having excellent shari feeling. CONSTITUTION: The Y type cross-section rayon fiber is obtained by a process containing the steps of: treating fiber or products containing cellulose acetate fiber with alkali to saponify at least 75% of acetyl group in the cellulose acetate fiber into hydroxyl group; and converting into the Y type cross-section rayon fiber mixed cellulose II crystal structure and cellulose IV crystal structure. The cellulose acetated fiber has Y type cross-section and 2.0-2.75 of substitution(45-59.5% of acetification). The Y type cross-section rayon fiber has under 2.5gf/de of breaking strength, at least 20% of breaking elongation and 1.45-1.51gm/cm¬3 of specific gravity.
