PURPOSE: The driving method of liquid crystal display device and liquid crystal display device are provided to improve the light utilization efficiency by using batch selection of a part or all of the pixel electrodes is performed a plurality of times during erasing data. CONSTITUTION: The method comprising the steps of: writing image data by applying a voltage to the liquid crystal material corresponding to each of the plurality of pixel electrodes; and erasing the image data by applying a voltage to the liquid crystal material corresponding to each of the plurality of pixel electrodes, wherein, during the erasure of image data, voltage application to the liquid crystal material by batch selection of a part or all of the plurality of pixel electrodes is performed a plurality of times, and voltage application to the liquid crystal material is performed in each of a plurality of selection periods in which a part or all of the plurality of pixel electrodes are simultaneously selected.
