PURPOSE: A rotary headrest of a vehicle seat is provided to disperse a blow given in such an accident of a vehicle as a crash by making a headrest rotate backward and forward as well as move up and down. CONSTITUTION: A rotary headrest of a vehicle seat comprises a front-to-back support(20) inserted into a headrest(10) of the upper end of a seat back(11) to improve the riding comfort on a seat, a pair of vertical supports(30) fit into a guide unit inserted in the seat back, a fixed guide(40) disposed between the front-to-back support and the vertical supports, a rotation control mechanism(50), and a fixed support(60) inserted in the headrest. The front-to-back support has through grooves(21) at the ends of the bent-up unit of the support. Level control sills(31) are formed at the body of the vertical supports. The fixed guide has coupling grooves(41) within. The rotation control mechanism forms a fixed shaft(51) passing through the through grooves and supporting grooves(32), and has a handle(52), a coupling portion(53) corresponding to the fixed guide, and a fixed protrusion(54) for preventing dislocation of the supports. The fixed support has a fixing groove(61) for inserting the end of the fixed shaft. The safety of passengers is improved because the headrest turns to be able to absorb and disperse shock in a crash.
