PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to form the electroluminescent backlight on a same substrate with a thin film transistor array or a color filter array and integrally form the driving lines of the backlight equal or similar to the gate and data scanning lines. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a lower substrate(320) formed with a TFT array(350), a backlight(330) formed with a luminescent layer and conductive films(332,336) on top and rear surfaces of the luminescent layer for serving as electrodes, and an upper substrate(370) formed with a color filter array, wherein the backlight is interposed between the lower substrate and the thin film transistors and has an electroluminescent layer(334) as a light source, the luminescent layer is formed of an inorganic or organic material, and a driving line of the backlight is connected to a driving line of the thin film transistors. |
