PURPOSE: A wired and wireless remote controller is provided to couple a transmitting part of a remote controller to a system having a receiving part of a remote controller, so as to enable the selection of a wired function or a wireless function of the remote controller. CONSTITUTION: A transmitting part(10) of a remote controller includes a wire and wireless selection key(11), a wire and wireless selector(12) and a signal processor(15). The wire and wireless selection key(11) is for selecting a wired or wireless operation state of the remote controller. The wire and wireless selector(12) controls a wired circuit(13) or a wireless circuit(14) according to key inputs of the wire and wireless selection key(11). And the signal processor(15) checks the key input of the wire and wireless selection key(11) and a signal for checking the connection between the remote controller and a speaker to control the wire and wireless selector(12). A wired transmission line(30) outputs a transmission signal by wire from the transmitting part(10) of remote controller. A receiving part(20) of the remote controller includes an infrared signal receiving unit(21) and a microcomputer(22). The infrared signal receiving unit(21) receives a transmission signal by wireless from the transmitting part(10). And the microcomputer(22) reads signals provided from the wired transmission line(30) and the infrared signal receiving unit(21) to transmit remote controller signals to a system part(40).
