PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera capable of observing a recording image signal and a playback image signal individually when the image signal recorded in a desired position of a recording medium is reproduced during the recording of the image signal. SOLUTION: The video camera can reproduce the MPEG data stored in a desired position of a disk 108 during the recording of a pick-up image. When the image is reproduced during the recording, the image recorded in an EVF 204 and the image (MPEG data) reproduced on a liquid crystal panel 208 are displayed individually under control.
