<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of erasing a recorded part mistakenly in the case of leaving an erroneous erasure prevention pawl in order to continuously perform recording on partially recorded magnetic tape in a magnetic tape cassette type recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: In a recording mode, a recording signal processing circuit 3 attaches data for erroneous erasure prevention to auxiliary data according to a command of a system control circuit 1. In a reproduction mode, an erroneous erasure prevention data detection circuit 5 detects the data for erroneous erasure prevention before recording start, and if the detected data are for erroneous erasure prevention, i.e., recording prohibition, the system control circuit 1 stops recording or displays an alarm and prevents erroneous erasure not in a cassette unit but in a recording unit.</p> |
