<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfonated polyolefine separator effective for self- discharge restraint of a Ni/NH battery, etc., from which a high hydrophilic property, that is, a high sulfonation rate is required to provide high power characteristics important for electric power source application for movement compatible with tensile strength and high sulfonation by increasing the sulfonation rate without causing lowering of strength of fiber itself. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the separator for use in the battery with unwoven cloth constituted of fiber 9 which polyolefine resin as a main material and at least the neighborhood of a surface of the fiber of which is sulfonated applies pretreatment to bleach the unwoven cloth in a steam current of humidity near saturation, favorably, of more than 80% humidity in advance of sulfonating treatment with SO3 gas.</p> |
