PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a TFT type liquid crystal display device and a driving method therefor, permitting high quality display at low costs by reducing charges changed in signal lines by the preceding scanning by a relatively simple method, and improving a driving capability of a signal line driving circuit. SOLUTION: In the n-th horizontal scanning period, the signal line driving circuit outputs a positive signal line driving voltage for a display time Tde by a load signal Lp, and outputs a pre-charge voltage of the positive polarity for a pre-charge period Tdo by a pre-charge signal Ocn; a scanning line driving circuit outputs Von to a scanning line Xn for the display time Tde in synchronization with the horizontal scanning period, and outputs Voff for the pre-charge period Tdo by a display control signal Doff; the polarity of the pre-charge voltage is controlled by the pre-charge signal Ocn; the scanning line driving circuit outputs a negative signal line driving voltage and a negative polarity pre-charge voltage for the (n+1)th horizontal scanning period; and this scanning is sequentially repeated.
