PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device, with which assembly accuracy can be easily secured and the leak of toner from the end part of a cleaning blade can be effectively prevented. SOLUTION: The cleaning blade 48 is held by a housing 53 reciprocatingly movably in the direction of the length (from side to side) and removes the residual toner on the surface of a photoreceptor drum while reciprocatingly moving by abutting the top end 48c thereof on a generating line of the surface of the photoreceptor drum. A seal member 58 is fixed on the housing 53 to face near the end part of the top end 48c. At such a time, the seal member 58 is configured separately from a seal member 54 and attached to the housing 53 through a shape-holding member 60 in the same shape as the seal member 58 after being fixed on the shape-holding member 60. Since the gap G between the top end 48c and the shape-holding member 60 can be easily secured at a management target value (0 to 0.5 mm), the gap G between the top end 48c and the seal member 58 can easily meet the management target value.
