PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for graphite membrane inside the panel of the cathode-ray tube, that makes sure the membrane concentration of the graphite membrane by a nondestructive examination, without having to depend on visual evaluation. SOLUTION: Correlation, between the purity drift by thermal expansion of the shadow mask and the reflection factor of the light of the graphite membrane 17, is obtained beforehand. The purity drift is controlled by measuring the reflection factor of the light of the graphite membrane 17 via a gap for the inner wall of the panel, thereby the purity drift can be controlled correctly by a nondestructive testing.
