PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigator on which facilities, places, areas or the like on a map related to music are easily retrieved. SOLUTION: A melody recognition section 12 converts a melody inputted by a user to melody data based on the output signals from a microphone 10. A retrieval key generating section 14 simplifies the melody and generates prescribed inputted music retrieval keys that express the features of the melody based on the melody data. A music retrieval section 18 compares and collates the inputted music retrieval keys and recorded music retrieval keys stored in a retrieval key DB 16, decides the degree of similarity and retrieves the music corresponding to the melody inputted by the user. A map DB 20 stores a table which indicates the contents of the music related to the facilities, the points and the areas. A map retrieval section 22 retrieves the facilities, the points and the areas related to the music extracted by the section 18 referring to the table stored in the DB 20. |
