PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mechanical strength of shadow mask. SOLUTION: This relates to a color television picture tube in which the outside face of the panel 1 is flat and the inner face has curvature, and a shadow mask 5, which is press molded in a curvature, is arranged opposed to the inner face of the panel. The radius of curvature of the shadow mask curvature becomes smaller in linear fashion, from the center toward the periphery. Within a certain distance from the center of the shadow mask 5, there is no difference in the radius of curvature on the major axis, minor axis and diagonal axis.
