PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which can prevent a light guide plate from discoloring by light given from a lamp. SOLUTION: One or more shielding films 703 formed of transition metal oxide which can shield ultra-violet rays of specific wavelengths causing discoloration of a light guide plate 720 are coated on a light passage provided for a display unit on which light emitted from a lamp 10 displays images. Therefore, yellowing phenomenon of a light guide plate made of polyolefin system resin mixture widely used for weight saving of same can be prevented.
