PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which restrains wind noise generated by a long series of big insulators and can be applied to existing installations with ease and at low cost. SOLUTION: With the method of restraining wind noise generated by an insulator 1 for an aerial power transmission cable, an earthenware section 2 of the insulator is formed of a plurality of concentric corrugations 4 and a blocking member 9 is arranged to fill the outermost concave portion 8 formed between the corrugation of the outermost periphery 4a and the inner corrugation 4b next to 4a.
