Fastening for garments and other textile articles, comprises semirigid plastic strips with interlocking angled edges. The fastening consists of a pair of interlocking semi-rigid plastic strips attached to the edges of a garment or other textile article by fabric supports (2). Each strip has a rectangular-section edge (1) along one side and a triangular-section edge (3) along the other, the latter having a projection (4) with a V-shaped cross-section. The projections on two facing strips have openings in opposite directions that engage with one another when overlapped. The strips are separated by pushing them towards one another or pulling them sharply apart.
