PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator capable of eliminating static by efficiently applying ions produced by ion-generating electrodes to a charged object. SOLUTION: The static eliminator includes: a first ion application device 1 including an ion-generating electrode 3 having the function of generating ions upon the application of a voltage whose polarity changes with time, and an ion-accelerating electrode 12 provided in a position opposite from the ion- generating electrode 3 across a charged object and having the function of attracting and accelerating the ions produced by the ion-generating electrode 3, upon the application of a voltage whose polarity changes with time, in such a way that it has the timing at which its polarity becomes opposite to the polarity of the voltage applied to the ion-generating electrode 3; and a second ion application device 2 provided in parallel with the first ion application device along the feed direction of the charged object such that the opposite relationship between the ion-generating electrode 3 and the ion-accelerating electrode 12 across the charged object is the opposite of that of the first ion application device.
